    In regards to the President’s announcement on the 104% China tariffs that take effect at midnight: April 9th, 2025, here’s how that tariff will be assessed.

    The Executive Order provides an updated reciprocal rate of duty for goods of China of 84%, replacing the previous rate of 34%.

    (When that is added to the original IEEPA (Fentanyl) tariff for China of 20%, that comes to a total of 104%.)

    The updated reciprocal tariff of 84% is effective for all goods, articles the product of China, including Hong Kong and Macau, entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 12:01 a.m. ET on April 9, 2025.

    This tariff will be in addition to all other duties, taxes, fees, AD/CVD as applicable to the articles being imported.

    Exception: Articles the product of the countries that have an additional country-specific rate of duty, that were

    (1) loaded onto a vessel at the port of loading and in transit on the final mode of transport on or after 12:01 a.m. EDT April 5, 2025and before 12:01 a.m. EDT April 9, 2025 and

    (2) Are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumptionbefore 12:01 a.m. EDT on May 27 2025, are subject to the 10% additional rate in lieu of the country-specific rate of duty.
