Updated Aug 27, 2025 – Additional 25% Duties on Imports from India
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Aug. 26 published a Federal Register notice that lists the additional import duties which are effective for Indian products entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. ET on Aug. 27.
On Aug. 6, the Trump administration issued Executive Order 14329 to impose an additional ad valorem duty rate of 25% on U.S. imports of Indian products in response to India directly or indirectly importing Russian oil in support of Russia’s military incursion into the Ukraine. This 25% tariff will be in addition to the 25% reciprocal tariff that is already in place.
