Mar 27, 2025 – 25% Tariffs on Automobiles and Automobile Parts

The current Administration issued a proclamation on March 26, 2025 imposing 25% tariffs on imported cars, light trucks, and certain auto parts under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act.

This tariff is in addition to any existing duties/tariffs. The final list of affected products  is yet to be published. The tariffs on automobiles take effect on April 3, 2025, while those on parts will be effective no later than May 3, 2025, pending further notice in the Federal Register.
